Please note: These instructions allow you to install a third-party RSS reader application to your Facebook profile. Your Bombplates site can be <?php print l('configured', 'admin/social_networks/facebook'); ?> to feed your data to Facebook automatically, but if you have a favorite RSS application, you can configure it to pull data from your Bombplates site as well. The following are sample instructions for configuring this using the Social RSS app. Keep in mind that Social RSS is in no way affiliated with or maintained by Bombplates, so functionality may change without notice.

Adding your band's Bombplates RSS feed to Facebook


Adding to your profile page

  1. Log in to Facebook.
  2. Install an RSS app.
      • These instructions recommend Social RSS.
      • If you use a different app, your steps may be different.
    1. Navigate to the application's link: http://apps.facebook.com/rss-connect/presentation.php?_fb_q=1
    2. Click "Edit Settings"
    3. "Allow"
  3. Add your Bombplates feeds.
    • Scroll down to "Feed Settings"
    • Fill in two entries (Don't include the quotation marks):
      • Tag: "BP1" Title: "<?php print $site_name; ?> News" Url: "<?php print ''.$news.''; ?>"
      • Tag: "BP2" Title: "<?php print $site_name; ?> Upcoming Shows" Url: "<?php print ''.$tour.''; ?>"
    • Click "Add to profile"
    • "Add"
  4. Congratulations! Your Facebook page will now automatically read from your Bombplates site.

Adding to your band's fan page
  1. Log in to Facebook.
  2. Create band page:
    1. Go to http://www.facebook.com/pages/create.php
    2. Fill in information appropriate to your band.
    3. "Create Page"
  3. Pick an RSS app.
  4. Navigate to the application's link: http://apps.facebook.com/rss-connect/presentation.php?_fb_q=1
  5. Click "Facebook Pages"
  6. Choose your band's page.
  7. Click the button to confirm permissions for the app.
  8. Scroll down to "Feed Settings"
  9. Fill in two entries (Don't include the quotation marks):
    • Tag: "BP1" Title: "<?php print $site_name; ?> News" Url: "<?php print ''.$news.''; ?>"
    • Tag: "BP2" Title: "<?php print $site_name; ?> Upcoming Shows" Url: "<?php print ''.$tour.''; ?>"
  10. Click "Update"
  11. Scroll back to the top of the page and click your Band's page's name to go there.
  12. Click the large "+" in the list of tabs ("Wall", "Info", etc.)
  13. Select RSS/Blog.
